Parent Involvement

Clovelly Child Care Centre encourages parent participation and involvement in all areas of the daily program.  Parents are regularly assisting and interacting with the centre in a number of ways. These include:

  • Attending general meetings
  • Cooking with the children
  • Reading to the children
  • Accompanying children and staff on excursions
  • Repairing and maintaining equipment
  • Gardening and caring for the chickens
  • Fundraising/ Social events

Parent Committee

The Centre is operated by a Parent Committee consisting of current users of the service who are elected yearly at the Annual General Meeting. The following positions are held:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • 4 ordinary members

All parents are encouraged to become more actively involved in the Centre’s operation through regular meetings. Clovelly Child Care actively seeks a closer liaison between staff and parents and recognises the benefits of such a union. Parents are also encouraged to be active participants in other committees. Clovelly Child Care Centre has a Social Committee and a Sustainability Committee. Committees are formed and utilised as the need arises.
